The most personal song of the EP which is why I chose it as the title track. It's written from the perspective of someone close to me who put up with bad behaviour for longer than they should've.
lyrics
VERSE 1
What are you lying for
I can see from your face you’ve made another mistake again
And I’m so ashamed to say it don’t hurt anymore cause I've heard it all before
CHORUS
It’s not like you to break your promises
But it seems these days it’s all you ever do
The path you chose it takes so much away
Why can’t we go back to yesterday
VERSE 2
There’s a distant memory
Of you and me and the people we used to be
But love it cannot be enough
To sate your need and bring you back to me
CHORUS
It’s not like you to break your promises
But it seems these days it’s all you ever do
The path you chose it takes so much away
Why can’t we go back to yesterday
MIDDLE 8
I’ve run out of options what else can I do
I’ll never be safe while I’m living with you
You’ll try to convince me you'll tell me you’ve changed
But I know that things will stay the same
To love is to leave
Have the space that you need
We are fools to believe
So I'll go
History
Hey yeah
Ahh
Ohh
Whoah
CHORUS
It’s not like you to break your promises
But it seems these days it’s all you ever do
The path you chose it takes so much away
Why can’t we go back to yesterday
It’s not like you to break your promises
But it seems these days it’s all you ever do
The path you chose it takes so much away
Why can’t we go back to yesterday
OUTRO
We are fools to believe
So I'll go
